St Pauls Terrace Widening & Service Relocation

Lendlease Services Pty Ltd

Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Queensland

$5.6 Million

The Scope of works included; Road widening, service relocation, new street lighting, traffic signals, and associated civil works on St Pauls Terrace between Brookes Street and Constance Street.

Allroads were responsible for the construction of all civil works and Public Utility Provider (P.U.P.) management on the project.

Careful programming and strategic staging were integral to ensure a safe and trafficable site was maintained throughout the construction duration.

Stage 1: Service Installation and relocation required the installation of a new service corridor for Energex, Telecommunications and QUU Water reticulation. This required coordination of in excess of 10 PUPs to successfully decommission and move the existing infrastructure.

Stage 2: Road Construction, Traffic Signals, and street lighting was partially performed under permanent contraflow with remaining works requiring extensive planning due to the requirement to maintain a minimum of 2 lanes open at all times and high traffic volumes through the works area. This resulted in excess of 30 traffic switches to stage and deliver the works.

A pro-active approach was taken to community liaison to ensure residents and businesses in the high-density urban precinct were informed of upcoming works and implications to the precinct (traffic changes, service outages, etc.). High impact (noisy and disruptive) works were performed outside of peak trading ours to cause minimal adverse impacts during construction.

Works completed ahead of time and client instructed accelerated program achieved.
