SRG Strathpine Office Development

ALLROADS were contracted by ADCO to provide bulk earthworks and civil works associated with the construction of the Super Retail Group (SRG) Strathpine Offices project.

Specific works included: bulk earthworks, asphalting, line marking, signage, stormwater, sewer works, water connection and reticulation works, erosion and sediment control, backfilling to retaining walls, traffic signal works and Bio Retention Basins.

Demonstrating innovative thinking to our project delivery approach, ALLROADS proposed the use of Combigrid and reduced pavement depth for areas requiring significant unsuitable removal and replacement. This saved one week on the construction program and approximately $70k for the client.

Environmental Management was critical to the delivery of the works given there were significant environmental risks identified due to a freshwater creek being located immediately downstream of the project.

CPESQ certified ESC Plans were developed and site controls implemented and maintained by ALLROADS for the duration of the works.

Due to the number of commercial and residential properties immediately sharing the property boundary with the project, a NATA accredited third party carried out dust monitoring every month to ensure minimal impact to surrounding residents.

Delivery of the conduit construction works also provided an additional challenge for the project team as construction was undertaken across four lanes of live traffic. ALLROADS successfully managed this issue by adopting contra-flow and lane closures.

Given the nature of the works, the project saw a number of contractors working on site simultaneously. To mitigate any potential issues, ALLROADS initiated daily coordination meetings with other trades to ensure a seamless and safe delivery of works.
