Kolonga Street, Woodridge Master Drainage Project

ALLROADS were awarded the contract to undertake drainage infrastructure works at Kolonga Street, Woodridge for Logan City Council.

This project required upgrading the existing stormwater infrastructure along North Road, Victoria Street and Douglas Street. Given that works were being undertaken in residential area, Council required all works to be undertaken during the day with local traffic access maintained at all times.

Construction works performed under the contract included installation of new reinforced stormwater pipes (with pipe jacking), box culverts, manholes, gully pits, minor concrete works, pavement reinstatement, line marking and various service relocation works.

Due to busy road conditions, pipe jacking was required at the Victoria Street and North Road intersection. However, through the implementation of our innovative project methodology, further pipe jacking was reduced cost savings passed on to Council.

As part of the finishing works, ALLROADS assisted Council to identify areas of failed pavement that were subsequently included as part of our additional scope.

  • 7,378m2 of pavement replacement and resurfacing, kerb & channel and subsoil drainage

  • 200 m²  of concrete driveways and footpaths

  • 750m of stormwater lines and 27 new stormwater structures under existing roads

  • Coordination with existing asset owners including Telstra, Logan Water and Energex which included pole grab and stays when working within the zone of influence of power poles

  • Works performed under live traffic conditions with a key focus on pedestrian safety due to the close proximity of a primary school

  • High public protection standards to minimise disturbance and ensure safety of local residents

  • Regular internal and external QHSE audits conducted to ensure high standards maintained
