Gilmore Road Industrial Development

The Gilmore Road Industrial development project was essentially a subdivision project, enabling future industrial and warehouse developments on the site.

Located on the corner of Gilmore Road and Third Avenue, works included civil infrastructure, bulk earthworks, retaining walls and landscaping. In addition, the project also included the construction of a new road linking the existing section of Australand Drive to Third Avenue.

More specific works included:

  • Large scale tree clearing and grubbing,

  • Bulk cut to fill earthworks,

  • Construction of two bio-basins,

  • Design and construct of Block, Concrete Sleeper, and two Boulder Retaining Walls,

  • Roadworks and drainage including unbound pavement, seal and asphalt, stormwater drainage, erosion and sediment control, concrete footpaths, cross overs and landscaping,

  • Sewer and watermain reticulation to include live connections,

  • Concrete works for footpath and driveways.

During the project ALLROADS implemented a number of client directed design changes including Energex design, raising of the boulder retaining wall heights and excavation of loading dock on Lot 102.

ALLROADS faced a major challenge with the construction of the basin retaining wall. The wall required detailed excavation works to excavate the footing and a large amount of concrete works for the retaining wall footing. Ensuring the starter bar spacings were correct and spacing behind the blockwork was excavated correctly were critical and lead to minor rectification works to ensure that these requirements were met.

ALLROADS effective and innovative project and QHSE management approach ensured the desired project outcomes were achieved for all stakeholders.

  • 56,000m3 Cut to Fill (bulk and detailed excavation)

  • 2,400m2 seal and asphalt

  • 625m of electrical cabling

  • Construction of two bio-basins

  • Design and construct of 120L/m Block Retaining Wall, 470L/m of Boulder Retaining Walls and100 L/m Concrete Sleeper Retaining Wall

  • Traffic Management

  • Environmental Management

  • Regular internal and external QHSE auditing to ensure high standards maintained

  • Construction of stormwater drainage, sewer and water Reticulation
