Dennis Road, Springwood Master Drainage
- Logan City Council
- $1.1 million
- Springwood, Queensland
This project required upgrading the existing stormwater infrastructure including installation of new reinforced stormwater pipes, pipe jacking reinforced concrete pipes, manholes, gully pits, minor concrete works, pavement reinstatement and service relocation.
As part of the scope of works, ALLROADS were required to close half of the road in order to complete pipe jacking works under the intersection of a main road. During this time, ALLROADS endeavoured to notify residents in advance of any changes to access and egress, ensuring that residences access to properties was never impeded.
While completing the pipe jacking of 600Dia reinforced concrete pipes, ALLROADS encountered rock stronger than anticipated. This provided some challenges when completing excavation using a tunnel bore method. With discussion between ALLROADS and the pipe jacking subcontractor, our project team were able overcome the difficulties that arose with trenchless excavation.
