Dennis Road, Springwood Master Drainage

ALLROADS were awarded the contract to undertake the master drainage works at Dennis Road, Springwood for Logan City Council.

This project required upgrading the existing stormwater infrastructure including installation of new reinforced stormwater pipes, pipe jacking reinforced concrete pipes, manholes, gully pits, minor concrete works, pavement reinstatement and service relocation.

As part of the scope of works, ALLROADS were required to close half of the road in order to complete pipe jacking works under the intersection of a main road. During this time, ALLROADS endeavoured to notify residents in advance of any changes to access and egress, ensuring that residences access to properties was never impeded.

While completing the pipe jacking of 600Dia reinforced concrete pipes, ALLROADS encountered rock stronger than anticipated. This provided some challenges when completing excavation using a tunnel bore method. With discussion between ALLROADS and the pipe jacking subcontractor, our project team were able overcome the difficulties that arose with trenchless excavation.

  • 50m Pipe Jacking (600Dia RCJP)

  • Installation of 300m of new stormwater pipelines

  • Works performed under live traffic conditions with vehicular access to affected properties maintained at all times

  • Reconstruction of 1,100m2 of asphalt pavement

  • Reinstatement of five concrete driveways while maintaining access for residents

  • Landscaping works including reinstatement of median ground cover and street trees
